hello, i’ve been trying to format my 128gb samsung micro sd card since yesterday to fat 32 and it hasn’t been working even though i’m following the guide. i tried reformatting it yesterday using my macbook air’s built in sd card reader and it hasn’t worked. external wasn’t showing up there so i got a sd card adapter and external showed up this time, but it’s still not working when i tried reformatting. it shows this error and says my card isn’t readable anymore until i change it back to mac os extended. my sd card is new and there’s absolutely no data in it. any help would be appreciated!

i tried formatting another sd card to see if the problem was the sd card and that didn’t work either and it became unreadable and wouldn’t even go back to the previous format
post a photo ofthe card, please
this is the samsung one i tried and only is readable when i reformat back to mac os extended and what i want to use for modding
i restarted my laptop and that never did anything
Can u check if the sd card still good maybe its bc of that
it’s freshly new, how can i check if it’s good?
im using my macbook air and its version 10.12.6
Oh
if that answers your question correctly
no my house just uses mac
yes
Try plugging it in with the adapter if it says its reading its good if not its bad
i thought the ds can’t read the sd card if it’s over 32 gb if it’s not properly formatted
and my sd card is 128 so even if it’s good wouldn’t it still not read?
So wait did u already format the sd card to fat 32 and then the problem started or did it start as u were formatting it
the problem occurs as i’m formatting it. i follow the steps on the guide, then once i click erase that error pops up
then it says my sd card isn’t readable until i format it back to mac os extended
i tried another sd card and the erase process failed for that too and i can’t even format it back either
the built in sd card reader wasn’t showing external files so i got a usb to sd adapter it showed external now but erase process is still failing so now we’re here
Maybe try disk utility
that’s what i’ve been using
Maybe use the terminal
Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities).
Type diskutil list and press Enter to identify the SD card's identifier (e.g., disk2).
Type diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskX (replace X with the identifier) and press Enter.
Type sudo diskutil eraseDisk FAT32 SDCARD MBRFormat /dev/diskX (replace X with the identifier) and press Enter.
Wait i will send a screen shot its better for understandinf
alright thank you give me a second to try that
Yo
sorry quick question for the identifier it shows me 3 do i type in the one from (internal, physical)
(internal, virtual)
or
(external, physical)
and there’s 0 and 1 from each list
External physical
do i put disk2 or disk2s1?
it said “Unknown partition scheme: CARD”
Well
Then i dont know anymore
Maybe ur mac isnt happy with the external usb
Or maybe u dont have the correct driver
do i type in anything now to fix it or reverse it now? and what should i do from here then
like what should i try
Can u send a photo of ur screen
If im honest i dont own a mac or any apple product can u just close it
If not just restart ur mac
i closed it
Ok im sorry i cant help but i tried my best
i still appreciate your help and effort even if we couldn’t figure out the problem thank you so much
