Hello to all,
I recently turned on my 3ds after a looong time and I noticed the time has reset to 01/01 00:01.

I've read online that this might be a battery issue (it accidentally disconnecting), and while that doesn't sound the same as the battery being swollen, I want to check with you that it shouldn't be an issue to charge/use this 3DS.
The back panel doesn't look like it's gonna come off, so I assume I am safe...?

By the way, this 3ds has charging issues and has had them for a lot of time, but I think it's just the port. I am perfectly able to charge it through a charging stand (although I haven't verified yet if it holds charge just to be safe).

Last time I used it (and for a lot of years) I couldn't charge it without putting it in certain positions

so I would just use the charging stand

it would hold charge just fine

Yeah that's the charging port

The battery reseating sounds like the battery either died completely or became loose

Neither are a fire risk

I was able to turn it on after charging it for a while so I might be just okay with using it. I was scared to open it up, cause if I had confirmed the battery was swollen, I had no fireproof container or anything to place it while I plan its disposal
