My sister was playing animal crossing new leaf and was told to do a system update, and when she did this screen popped up on her console. I think her animal crossing file may have corrupted. She knows Ive modded stuff before so she asked me to fix it, problem is the error screen is showing a file that doesn’t exist on the SD card. The console has never had anything external put on it and really hasn’t been played much since 2020, and I don’t have a triwing screwdriver to pop it open and try to factory reset. Am planning on getting one if we cannot find a solution but would love any type of advice on how to fix this.
#Non-Modded 2DS XL having an error screen

It is definitely modded, that's a luma exception screen.
Yeah thats what I thought
But theres no files on the sd card
Its just got regular stuff
Does the error only happen when opening animal crossing?
She bought it brand new
It will only show this screen when turned on now
And pressing any button will turn it off
Ive tried putting some other games in it and it does the same
A complete guide to 3DS custom firmware
I tried but its not pulling up the luma menu its still just stuck on the weird error screen
No you need to take out the sd card and update luma using your pc
I did
But it doesnt have luma to begin with
And i cannot add it to the console because its just stuck on this error screen
Doesn't matter
Which is whats confusing me
Just put it into the sd card
Can I see the root of your sd card
I tried putting it on multiple times
Im about to go to bed but I can get a picture of it tomorrow
Its just got the basic stuff on it
Ok so turns out it WAS a used console she got “refurbished” in 2020, she just thought she has gotten it used, and what happened was when she got it gamestop or the previous had taken out the modded sd card and then we got a new sd card for it
So thats why I couldnt find any of the files for stuff in the sd card
We took it to her friend who works with computers and junk and hes gonna fix it for us
