Hello, recently i fount my 3ds in my closet the charging port was completely broken and id have to assume it had been out of use for 6-10 years now whilst the battery was fully dead. So what i did was order a charging port and solder the new one on i then left it on charge for around 15 minutes before opening it and seeing it all deep fried on the bottom. I re checked the ribbon cables that i disconnected both were fine from my limited knowledge and I saw some scratches on the battery but i dont think it could be the battery. Ill fully charge the battery and see if it changes but if it doesnt does anybody have any ideas on what could needed to be replaced or likewise?
#Screen is deepfried?

Check the digitizer ribbon cables even if you never touched them. Maybe your 3ds had some sort of fall during the time it wasn't in use, causing that ribbon cable to come loose
Ill have do it tomorrow but thank you for the advice ill take the actual motherboard off and check those connections it didnt occur to me one of those might be loose
however if that doesnt work would you recommend replacing the screen or something like the batteru
Im having a similar issue with mine, It looks normal but the too screen is super saturated. I believe its probably an issue with the video ribbon cables.
yeah im gonna double check all connections tomorrow and ill let you know if it fixed anything. keep me updated on yours if youd like and ill see if i can get a similar fix if you end up fixing it
You'd only need to replace the digitizer but you could just do the entire screen if the replacement comes with the LCD too
Checked the cables and no luck unfortunately
Ive ordered a digitizer off aliexpress im hoping it works as it is where i got my charging port
So it should come by this time next week and ill see if it fixes the problem
So i just finished replacin the digitizer
but no luck
the screen still looks how it did
any other ideas?
imgoin to assume its not the connections of the cables then as ive just reconnected every cable
it might be the actual cable still but id heavily doubt it but im no expert so if i could get your opinion on it
howeveri do think ive somehow put the digitizer on wrong as the touchscreen now does not work
but
im really not sure
after looking around people are saying a whole new bottom screen might work
but i really dont want to fork out anymore money on this unless it is a guarantee
like it was a fun revival project but it is not worth that much to me
ill see how much it will be though
