im guessing i have to take apart my battery then put it back in but i just want to make sure before i do anything to my 3ds

that happens when the battery is taken out of the 3ds so the battery is probably having issues and your best bet is to buy a new battery
make sure it isn’t bloated as that can be a fire hazard

is there any other possible problems that caused this problem

could also be an issue with the battery contacts. you could try wiping down the area and make sure nothing is causing an issue with the connection. also make sure the backplate isn’t loose and somehow causing the battery to come out
don’t use water to wipe anything down, just like a dry microfiber cloth to remove any dust. if the contacts look like it has corrosion you can try a high percentage of isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush to clean it off
