So I had this odd issue where it says that the sdcard is write protected

The sdcard worked JUST FINE before I took it out to download some games, then all of a sudden I get this error

I tried taping down the little slider to prevent it from moving but I've had no luck

Did the sdcard slot really just die for no reason or is there another fix?

Yes, I've tried cleaning the contacts and tried another sdcard which changed nothing

You shouldn't need to take out the card for games. Eshop, cartinstall, and universal updater install stuff with just the 3ds
