Yeah new 3ds xl died after playing animal crossing new leaf it's black screened but the power light still turns on I tired taking out the battery and putting it back in same with the SD card

@tiny hill try this:

  1. Remove game cartridge (if inserted)
  2. Power on 3ds
  3. wait ten minutes

do you have access to a computer or a device that can edit files on an sd card?

Yeah I can use my steam deck it's what I used to mod it around 2 months ago

okay, try what I said before first, if it doesnt work then we can move on to the next troubleshooting methods

Okay. power off your system and put your sd in a computer. Rename " Nintendo 3DS" to "Nintendo 3DS_BACKUP" and boot
