while fixing a 3ds I ruined a screw hole's threads where you screw in the circle pad, and I was wondering if I can fix it instead of replacing the whole bottom shell somehow.

Don’t want to insult you but I just made this dumb mistake again don’t know if it applies. I reshelled my entire 3ds xl and mixed the screws up and used the shorter screws for the back cover not the long ones meant for the joystick. Thought I stripped the joystick holes and then realized it was just not long enough to grab. If you actually stripped it then maybe this video will help
