#3DSXL - pop sound when trying to power on past first click

i have a 3dsxl that will turn on when its on the 1st screen click but anything past the first click when trying to boot it tires there i hear like a pop sound and turns off, reading online it sounds like it could be a screen issue ? is this the case and is the only way to fix this replacing the screen ?

for sure a ribbon cable issue, you could try reinserting the top screen ribbon cable but its probably broken

If you tried to replace the ribbon cable then you broke the connector it’s very fragile and i did this when i first tried to replace my 2dslx screen had to pay like £50 for a new connector and other random shit

Is the ribbon cable the one on top or underneath?? I only reseat the top one and that still giving me issues

It still works on first click sometimes if I gently click past the first bit it will work but most of the time pops and turns off
