i havent used my old 3ds in years, and it wont charge, no orange light no blue light wont turn on at all. the charging port looks quite damaged so im pretty sure thats probably the reason. my charger isnt the problem as it charges my other new 3ds xl. but i just thought i would ask if maybe it could be i need a new battery? or if its just hopeless

try to clean it a bit with a toothbrush, if the problem persists, you need a new battery (I don't remember if they can turn on without it but i doubt it)

if you have a charging cradle laying around try using it, it uses the golden contacts to charge instead of the charging port. if that doesn't work clean the contacts with a toothbrush and some ipa if you have it. if that doesnt work it could be a battery issue depending on how old it is.

update i ordered a new battery and it turned on right away, my cable though isnt charging my other 3ds so i think i need to get a new one but yeah it was the battery being quite old, thx everyone :D
