Should I change the 3ds shells?

Found my old 3ds galaxy XL in my basement
It's filled with scratched thou
After watching shell replacement im scared whether to replace the shell, due to me having a fear on whether I might brake my 3ds inside

don't do it if you don't feel confident

it'd be a strictly cosmetic change

changing the outer shells takes minimal effort though, and they're usually the ones that are scuffed bad
