#Circle pad keeps bubbling?

I've replaced my circle pad cap at least 3 times on my n3ds, and each time it's developed a bubble and fallen off. My current one seems to have a bit of resistance and it also has bubbling right now. Is there anything I should do to fix the problem? I also have another spare circle pad cap replacement.

Every time I replace the circle pad it keeps bubbling though, I'm wondering if the actual circle pad mechanism isn't flush with the console itself

Can you send a picture of what it looks like?

It doesn't look as bad as my other ones which I threw away but I'm not sure it'll show on camera

#

I'll send it regardless

#

@rich helm it's in the right corner, starting to rise a bit

Oh I wouldn’t really worry abt it tbh

And eventually the thing just falls off

i'm guessing it's an issue with the adhesive that binds the rubber grip to the plastic, maybe try ordering from different sellers?

Tbh it is 3rd party

#

But the same thing happened to the og circle pad

i mean yeah, the rubber grip isn't bound well to the stick in oem pads either, they just tend to come eventually with enough use

Is it the n3ds or n3ds xl

true stone

n3ds

#

Didn't even know there was a difference between sticks

#

Also are there any high quality third party alternatives?

They should be cheap regardless of version and its easy to replace

#

The only thing most don't like is the material of the analog pad itself, mostly solid plastic instead of rubber

Yes

#

If you do get lucky you'll find oem analog thumb pads but most likely more expensive

Makes sense

Thx

only real way to get an oem pad would be to purchase a for parts console

If the issue is the circle pad consistently coming unglued despite your best efforts, you could try buying a 3rd party one made of solid material. I saw once a long time ago a shop that was doing custom metal ones, but it's been a long time since

I just used all purpose glue for the rubber to stick, and its held fine with it

They do have plastic versions tho

Damn, people need to start making custom shells for the 3ds models

merry berry
#

It's in my todo list, but I'm not gonna be making customs per say, just molding OEM ones and using various plastics

Interesting

It might be a while, so don't hold your breath, but sure thing

And mostly it's gonna start as a solution to being literally unable to source N3DS non XL shells consistently from anywhere besides a doner system

true stone
#

Maybe once the 3ds becomes a retro console extremerate will make shells for most models?

Maybe

Big maybe there lol
