Ive been playing ACNL Welcome Amiibo on my 3ds for a couple of months now (digital copy) and am considering of buying the physical copy, though, i would very much like to continue playing on my town right now instead of starting all over again. If i bought a physical copy of the game, is there any way i could transfer my SD card save onto the game cartidge? keeping my town, items, bells, villagers, progress, and everything...(?)

I dont have a physical copy yet. I was thinking if i could use Checkpoint and just reload the save from there, but i doubt that would work.

I heard about a trick where you could use the "Move Town" option from Isabelle in the starting menu using a secondary character, but i really would like to transfer my save still as my current one.

Are there any other options of moving sd saves to physical carts?

yes checkpoint would work for that

#

you would need to start the game card version first so it can format the save archive, then you can use checkpoint to import the save (otherwise it may not appear)

Oh i didnt think that would work bcs i know game cartridges have their own saves instead of saving into the sd card no? (I dont fully understand game cartridges yet in checkpoint lol)

#

I will try this though when i finally get my hands on the physical copy

was looking all over the net and i couldnt find any answers huhu, thankyou sm!!

you likely don't see this as often because it's not officially supported by nintendo

#

but cart -> digital was something you can do with the official "Save Data Transfer Tool", which was on the eShop before closure

Okay, so what i'd have to do is:

Backup my current town (digital copy) in Checkpoint
then
Load in the ACNL game cart, and backup restore the save file i created?

import the save on the cart version

#

it's when you put the backed-up save back into the save

ohhh I get it, sorry my bad. I meant I have to restore the backup I just created

to import the save to the game cart
