It depends on your preference
I like the new 3ds xl because of the power and size of the screen.
The 2ds is lighter than the 3ds by a 100 grams which does feel lighter, the 2ds has a different looking screen and is generally cheaper than the 3ds models.
The 3ds is heavier and costs more but the 3d is something the a lot of people love. The old models 3d was terrible but if you are looking for a new model than the 3d tracks you eyes and makes for a pleasant experience.
They have the same battery and the same specs. As I said it is what ever your prefer.
