My New 3DS XL has had the black screen of death for almost 6 months now, so I decided to buy a motherboard replacement from iFixit and swapped them with each other. Beforehand, the 3DS would display its charging light and blue LED, but the screens would not turn on. Now, after the swap, the blue LED displays for 3-4 seconds before turning off with a pop. If it helps, I gave up on trying to put the ribbon cable on the top right corner of the visible side of the motherboard (the black one) into the connector, so I’m wondering if that cable is required for the system to boot. Thanks.
