Hey,
first off, i understand that modding is fine and cant brick anything if you are smart and read that's not my issue.

I'm wondering if

  1. theoretically, could i "un-mod" my console to make it stock again without losing what i had on it before?
  2. besides themes and games, what can modding my console do for me anyway? i own all the digital games i could want anyway and the only other benefit i could see is wireless capture. And emulation is cool and all, but i have a pc, and a steam deck that if i wanted to, could emulate better than and more games than a 3ds.
  3. i know my system wont brick, but how about some of the common things I've seen like random black apps appearing or specific apps not working? is that avoidable beyond just hoping its correct?

i just dont see anything modding a 3ds could do for me since i have all i need anyway (besides the bcs theme)

What do you all think?

i am not really sure what you want from that console more than games but if you played already those that are cool you can just use it as a better phone with games and thats all i can see and thats what i would do but i just started playing with 3ds more since you know games so yea you dont want it dont play with it it wont make good waffles tho

#

thats just about the opinion part i dont know anything about unmodding why tho

i just mean, i bought the digital exclusive games i wanted, so i dont see why i would need to mod it

balmy ember
#

wait so you have it modded or not?

sturdy panther
#

no

balmy ember
#

ohh that changes some

sturdy panther
#

im basicaslly saying, "why should i mod it?"

balmy ember
#

you get the lost games from dsi and stuff

#

but its also a fun emulator for playing the older games

#

its a handheld if you want to play on pc then play on pc but you wont outside

sturdy panther
#

i suppose but, i got the handful of virtual console stuff i wanted from the eshop, and i got like 2 dsi games.

well if you mod it you can in the future get the games that might take your attention

sturdy panther
#

yea i was thinking that, i just wanted to get the physical versions of as many games as i could but its expensive

balmy ember
#

I dont know if its possible but i think modding this console by bugs might run out one day

#

that makes sense that it will run out but i dont know if it will

sturdy panther
#

i dont think nintendo cares

#

they have uodated the console recently and its still there

balmy ember
#

thats not what i meant

sturdy panther
#

wdym

balmy ember
#

the method of modding changes everytime

#

by using bugs in some stuff

#

thats why you cant use video tutorial for modding

sturdy panther
#

yes but i see no reason why what we have now wont continue working no?

balmy ember
#

i mean if the method changes everytime in some time who knows if they will be able to find the bug or the bugs might be just not there

#

i dont know

#

since its changing i dont think it will be the same method again

#

so it cant circle around

sturdy panther
#

if the system doesnt get updated or patched to fix the current bug, why would it stop working?

balmy ember
#

i dont know why these bugs just do what they want

#

even if its not updated

sturdy panther
#

weird

balmy ember
#

the method still changes

#

yea i dont know how that works

#

but yea its better to mod it now that try in the future when it could not be accessible

#

also free games

#

i mean

#

soon enough it will be a dead console probably

#

maybe

#

also remember that what i said about the bugs running out and stuff its just a speculation i dont know if its confirmed its just my logic

sturdy panther
#

I see
