cracked hinge(?)

I’m not even sure if this is the hinge but should I be concerned? There’s this crack and I heard if left untreated it can get worse. I think it appeared when my friend dropped my 3ds a few months ago but I haven’t noticed it until recently.

yep. It will get worse. Same thing happened to me. It's super cracked and kinds doesn't close well. You should change the hinge, put some electric tape on it until you get a replacement

Thanks! Replacement as in get a whole new 3ds? Or is it something else?

I also heard some people use superglue? Is that practical or should I just use electric tape?

Oh no, just the shell. If you find the right color i think you can just replace the hinge part. But mine is super cracked and i need to replace the whole thing 😭
Idk about super glue tho, i wouldn't risk the glue going into the cracks or something.

Yeah it gets pretty bad 😭 i recommend you to use electrical tape JUST in case, because if it cracks like this it could get in contact with some electric components and i don't want you to have any problems with that 😭

I think this is the best answer for this tbh

i wouldnt recommend you superglue at all

i mean yeah less costs

but it could also kinda look ugly because of the dirt which it can get after some time

This happened to me back in 2017, i was still a bit of a child and i knocked the hinge against a corner of my grandma's house while playing

I didn't pay attention and then boom
