Ah. If it’s an official Nintendo battery it could be the OG one that came with the system.
I’d recommend replacing it, judging from the swelling and the tingling sensation. There are unofficial ones you can buy on sites like Amazon and Ebay, make sure to read the reviews before you purchase though 👍
Alright. I’d just recommend removing the battery then if the swelling is significant.
You’re free to back up your data before doing so (if it safely turns on), but continuing to use it like that will give you decreased performance, and if it gets punctured it could release hazardous gases. Try not to charge it anymore as well.
