These are third party ones, however, they are glass rather than plastic. I have the base "new" 3ds.

I plan on buying a can of compressed air, a spudger, and I plan to use gloves and a blowdryer(to heat the adhesive).

Anything I should know/general pointers to make sure I don't screw up?

There isn't one for my specific model that I own, but I saw one for the OG 3ds XL

Part of me wonders if having a glass screen lens will make the bottom screen not scratch it up.

Glass is harder than plastic so it probably will be harder to scratch

If it ever breaks it will be more of a mess to replace tho
