#Failed to mount SD card

my friend gave me his old 3ds and I saw it had v 5.1.0 on it and so i tried to soundhax it, but now when it turns on it just says failed to mount sd card.

i’ve tried formatting the sd card to fat32 and using a different one.

one sd card is 2gb and the other is 4gb. i’ve already made sure it wasn’t locked.

am i just screwed and now have a paperweight?

i’m gonna try and buy another sd card and see if that fixes it since these sd cards are old and could be corrupted
