@bold snow click the mouse icon in the bottom left to bring up equipment menu and change the weapon from there, you need to be at stage 1 of dungeons though (you can join tfma server here for more tips discord.gg/tfmadventures)

Yep, if you're close to someone when entering the hole and you're first, but with highter ping, your signal takes longer to travel to the server to register it, while the seconds is faster even if they entered after you
