Please remember to provide as much information as possible including all troubleshooting steps you have already taken. If this is a hardware issue, please provide clear in-focus images of the issue, PCB (circuit board), installation, and any soldering you have done. Help us help you, posts with insufficient information will be deleted

Because this post has the "Game Boy Advance SP" tag, we recommend checking out this wiki page https://gbwiki.org/en/consoles/advancesp

(I put the usb in a european 12w apple power adapter, it says "output:5.2v" which is what the gba sp uses no?)

#

I've seen some others get a brief orange light flicker before stopping but mine doesn't even do that

The cable shouldn’t fall out easily, in fact it’s usually pretty snug in my experience. No light flicker at all suggests to me you might have a blown fuse or broken trace. Could also be the battery or the charger cable lol. Do you have / know how to use a multimeter?

I don't own one no

Hmm I think that restricts your troubleshooting options to just trying a different charger, preferably OEM but what you have should work.

#

If you’re interested in learning how to fix electronics it makes sense to get a multimeter but if not, it’s probably best to wait 30 days and just use the marketplace to request a repair.

#

You could also try replacing the battery—is it new?

#

If it’s the original battery you should replace it anyway.

I do not know if it's new or not. I could probably get my hands on a multimeter though, will come back here when I do. thanks for the help

Sure, just be aware that if you find anything wrong with the multimeter you’d need to do some soldering to fix the issue.

yeah I figured

can you tell me what I should measure with the multimeter in advance?

You’ll want to start by checking your fuses. I think F2 is part of the charging circuit. You might also just try cleaning your charge port.

#

You’ll then want to try and figure out what caused the fuse to blow in the first place, otherwise it might happen again.

#

But I would start by ruling out the battery and the charger
