Hey all. This copy of pokemon emerald is having issues saving. I did have a save on it, a new save with 3 mins of game time. And it saved. However, it didn’t make it over 10min after I put it back into the console to check if the save is still there.

So it deleted the save and I needed to restart a new one. Which I did but each time I try to save it, it shows the save failed screen. I have attwaches photos of how the cart looks ( the one without the battery) and how one looks that is working.

I tried to reflow some of the solder and the save game came back but it doesn’t last long. So I wanted to know what is causing the issue. And also what I can do to fix this issue.

There’s obvious liquid damage on the board, but I don’t think that’s your problem. It’s most likely the flash failing.

I’m also leaning to that as well. I heard you can swap board and it works. But I don’t have a donor board nor a heat gun.

If only there was someone here who could do that work. Oh, wait, that’s me. 😄. DM if you’re interested.

But I think the flash is most likely toast.
