This was my very first mod, and it’s been about a week now. Been playing it now and then but not constantly. The batteries were fresh too
But I understand a brighter screen will drain them faster however if they were dead the power light wouldnt turn on right so do they just have enough juice to power that and not the screen? I’m running on double A’s. Plan on installing rechargeable battery pack eventually

That looks about right for standard alkaline batteries. If you want a bit more umph spring for the lithium or "high power devices" single use.

Getting a decent pair of NimH rechargeables will help.
