#Battery life question
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Since we can (temporarily) exclude the power switch, that leaves the batteries themselves.
Are you sure they were fully charged each time? Did you try different sets of batteries? Different types? Different brands, even?
Even higher quality batteries can have issues with capacity and discharge rate.
But yes, 90 minutes seems pretty quick. It should be at least several hours.
OK, well, if you used two sets of the same batteries, assuming they were fully charged, than we can start ruling it being a battery issue.
No other mods, like audio amps or the like? Those can drain more power then expected.
Other than that... power switch.
if you can take the shell off, you should be able to get some IPA in the switch to help clean it up a bit.
Dip a qtip in the IPA, drip the IPA into the switch and run the switch back and forth a bit (obviously don't do this with batteries in)
After that... yeah, you will likely have to find a way to desolder the power switch cover and get in there for a more direct cleaning.
wait, battery contacts are also clean?
not corroded or slightly discolored from oxidization?
they should be shiny silver. even slightly dull, but still silver works.
still seems a bit lower, it should be like, 4 to 5 at max, but a lot better than before.
seems like it's just the batteries you had.
no, I meant 4 or 5 hours at max brightness.
