Hey all!
I successfully transferred my CPU and RAM over to a custom FunnyPlaying motherboard, and got the boot up screen to appear after my first try!
However, the pixels seem to bleed together.. (see video)
This is my first CPU swap and I followed a tutorial on YT that goes over the reflow process of applying NoClean Flux and then sliding the solder iron over the pins.. can someone have a look at these photos and tell me what you think of the solder job? I noticed I can still see the tips of the pins on top of the pads, which makes me think there’s not enough solder for a good connection.

When I removed the CPU from the original motherboard, I did bend some of the pins near the corners 😦 I bended them back but I hope this didn’t cause any irreversible damage!

@tight trout hey are you the same guy from the gameboy club? I'm guessing so since you have the same profile picture! Here are some pics of my issue

So I believe there may be a compounding set of issues, your ram seems to be slightly eskew, and I’m not entirely sure that the new funnyplaying boards have the circuitry for the original screens to work right. Do you have a backlight kit to test with?

oh that's a good point. I do have the backlight kit but haven't tried it with that yet because I was waiting for the correct shell to come through

I'll test it out with the new screen first (man I'd feel so silly if that is all it was)

yeah you're right that the ram is like 1 or 2 degrees off.. I think there are no shorts on the pads but that'll be my 2nd troubleshoot to try.

Thanks for the insight! I'll report my updates as I go!
