The switch inside the cart reader is stuck or you are shorting out pins

the switch is physically inside the cart slot, so the cart slot would have to be disassembled to access and clean

open it up and post a photo of the installation and the board

didnt realize it was a FP motherboard. i misread. this part of the circuit should still be the same

VDD5 meaning C-1 and S-2 have continuity

clean all the flux off the board?

that area is the battery terminals. shorting that is a big problem. check around for signs of damage

do you know the alcohol trick? where you put IPA on the components and power it up and see where the IPA evaporates faster due to heat? might help find what's burning
