Missing trace for speaker ground | Game Boy | Page 1

received a previously modded unit, and the trace in the highlighted stock image is missing and speaker is not working. Is there another contact I can make a jump to? Been looking thru schematics but still fairly new 😅

Additional Troubleshooting:

Headphone Jack Works
Tried jumping to C38 but still no sound

I’m actually missing the trace on the front of the board, here is a photo. It’s in pretty rough shape, but trying to salvage.

It's a through hole pad so the front pad and back pad are connected.

hmmm okay, interesting. I was looking at that schematic you sent over earlier (thanks by the way!) and looked like it was connecting to C38, so was hoping making that jump would resolve, but seems like something else is at play here...

Link to HoZy's CGB Audio Troubleshooting Guide is a good start. Looks like you have/had major corrosion on the board so you might have to probe the connections surrounding the audio circuit to make sure the tracks are intact.
