#SP works, but won't power on for a minute after being powered off

SP 101 mobo works, but has a minor issue of not turning on again for about 50s-1m after being turned off. A mild inconvenience.

I suspect it's a capacitor issue somewhere but I have no idea where to start prodding with my multimeter to find the problem.

Attached front and back pics of the board. Just ask for macro shots of any particular areas if you can help, cheers

Thanks, but what in particular are you recommending?

oh i didnt finish my thought. measure pin 1 to ground when the power switch is off

#

that behavior is the drain resistor R48 not connected. plus your power switch board is soldered on crooked

Now that you mention it, it is slightly squiff. I'm a scrub with the multimeter, so my next question is which setting should I use, and where should I put the 2 probes? 🙃

pin 1 to ground

#

measure resistance youre making sure R48 is still in circuit

I see, ok

So basically r48 measures 1.008 on the multi when I check it, so it works. it looks like switch pin 1 to the left side of r48 (looking at it like my picture) measures 0.000 or something low so that's fine. But measuring from pin 1 to the right side of r48 gives no reading at all. I assume that means that fsr r48 isn't in circuit

are you doing this

prisma jetty
#

wait that's all I had to do

#

There's nothing, no reading

in the power switch off position

prisma jetty
#

Yea. Using ohm 2k setting

#

yea so the drain resistor isnt in circuit

#

realign the power switch

prisma jetty

I realigned the switch but it still had no effect.

So I fiddled with r48 and put some more solder on the left side just to make sure it had a good connection. Now there's resistance between p1 and g 🙏

time to test

No shit, it fucking works 🥳 you're a stud mike
