what troubleshooting steps have you done?

Have cleaned the contacts on both the cartridge as well as the gameboy. I am currently OMW to buy some new batteries. As it turned out I had no other fresh ones in the house.

try deleting all the ROMs and just putting a single one on. what brand SD card are you using, have you cleaned the power switch, have a you trimmed the cart pins

Yes the power switch inside the GBC were cleaned. With the cart pins I assume you mean the pins inside the gameboy. The ones that had to be trimmed for installing the screen?

SD card brand I don't know by the top of my head. It came with the EZ flash. I'll let you know once I am home.

Might have been the batteries. Tried new batteries. And I got into a game. Hopefully this is the culprit. Fingerscrossed Mike thank you for your time.
