Hiya all. I was wondering if anyone else could verify something for me. I've got a 40-pin AGB with a FP Laminated ITA screen installed. Whenever I plug in anytjing into the headphone jack, the backlight of the display turns off.
I've attached a few images. Hopefully the gameboy logo can be seen on the darker one.
A couple observations:
- Doesn't seem to be voltage based.
-- Using a stock cart + AAs doesnt work. Nor does the FunnyPlaying USB C battery kit.
-- Putting screen on min brightness has no effect.
-- Impedence of the headphones isn't a factor. Just having a cable plugged in is enough to trigger. - Headphones still work and I'm able to get audio.
Perhaps this could be due to the internal switch on the headphone jack? Could the 40 pin cable be drawing power from the speaker circuit?
