Is it possible to fix the reflective paint on the back of a GBP screen lens?

I have a Game Boy Pocket with one of the original screen lenseseses, with the mirror finish border. For... some reason, while cleaning it I decided to remove it, which wasn't my smartest idea for multiple reasons, one of them being that some of the border got left behind on the case. As a result, it now looks really quite ugly, with a hole in the mirror finish. I can't find a single replacement screen lens for sale anywhere (the closest I can find all have the Famitsu logo which is very much not what I want), so I was wondering if it was possible to try and fix this, say by adding some paint or tape or something?

there arent good replacements for this style of lens unfortunately. only ones with the power LED from cloud games store.

thats annoying; i know retro modding apparently used to make them but they discontinued it for some bizarre reason

its possible to get spray paint which creates a mirror finish effect, do you think it would be worth using that on here?

Theoretically, since it is some sort of silver, you could try silver plating it

i suppose for now the best option would be to buy a cheap replacement in whatever colour and in the meantime keep looking for a silver one
