Hey Friends, finally got my IPS Screen+ Shell for my GBA. The gba itself came from fb marketplace and the outsides were not good in shape. The speaker was very dirty and i cleaned everything with iso.
Now with the gba and the mod assembled the speaker compared to my gba sp is very quiet. What causes this? Is the speaker just bad or is the volume wheel defective?

Have you given the volume wheel a clean too?

Just a short clean and not with pressure or anything
Maybe i should pour some ipa in and drive the wheel with some pressure?

Yeah. Make sure the potentiometer doesn’t have any dirt or anything that’ll reduce contact and, in turn, make the speaker quieter.

Cleaned it now for 15 min straight with ipa and pressure. Pins Look good. Is there an option to check with multimeter if the potentiometer is working good?

No changes in volume. Still very quiet. Any tips on how to continue?

it will always sound quiet outside of the shell. slip it into the front shell to hear the difference

do you have other game boys to compare it to? these are 20 year old consoles they arent as loud as you phone
