I don't know that alcohol is even necessary here. I'd just take a can of compressed air and blow it off.

Why not just remove the Ribbon cable from the board?

Why not just wipe the whole thing down with a microfiber cloth? If there's no gunk, there's no real need for alcohol, let alone a "bath"

If it reads games, I'd just leave the cartridge slot. If done improperly, there's always the possibility of bending/breaking a pin
