Connecting tiles

I want to connect dirt (yellow) and stone (red), but they already have connections with themselves.
Because right now they are separeted. It's probably something easy I am missing.

How would I go about doing that?

if they are all the same size, then the problem is that they are just not meant to connect art-wise
