problem one sounds like you might have a mod that has block face culling on

problem two is known, and already fixed for the next version

disabled all of my optimization mods and the problem persists

also seems to be pretty inconsistent with when and why the bug happens

Also, you would think if it was block face culling it would fix, or at least change after rejoining

come find out, curseforge wasn't actually disabling all of my optimization mods, lithium, sodium, and indium were all still cooking up a load of garbage for me
