Does use a gyro, i think i can make a control loop and attitude sensor with just clockwork/create connected to get rid of the gyro. It can go in two directions 90 degrees from eachother using the swashplate

a gyroless helicopter will be most practical in a coaxial config, with one rotor having the swash, and the other linked to an altimeter for altitude control
