Named after the third King of the Mekhani Royal Dominion, this class of battleship has been in service in some form or other for fifty years due to its superiority as a point-defence platform. With a missile battery of fifty Staged Striker NAShMs, a primary battery of two twenty-megawatt ultraviolet laser cores and three six-millimetre railguns, and a secondary battery of eight five-and-a-half-millimetre railguns and two 3mm sniper coilguns, its pure gunnery firepower is unmatched across the Royal High Fleet. It is famous among astronauts for having a dedicated "fun deck" with computer-entertainment consoles and other recreational equipment, simply because it had delta-vee and room to spare.
The primary battery railgun, the RC-600 Lightning, is a single-mount ball-turret railgun firing a 3.50 gram Vanadium-Chromium-Steel sabot at Mach 33, with 10,000 rounds in the magazine and a fire rate of 660 rounds per minute, for an impact energy of 224 kilojoules assuming null relative velocity between target and gunship.
