A phaser project I made in about 2 weeks, best played on a phone. Not a full game, but its a practice project that I’ve finished development of

Use the joystick to move, and tap the top 2/3 of the screen to attack

Interested to hear how the controls feel, wasn’t super happy with them myself but my friends seem to like it

yay an actual roguelite

i killed the two enemies

#

i think its fine even on pc to click to drag the joystick. in mystery dungeon I think the attacks are automatic

#

i dont mind just clicking tho its natural to me

#

If there is no diagional movement, why use a joystick gizmo and not a d-pad? Then again, on mobile there's the game Coromon that allows the player to choose between virtual d-pad or virtual joystick despite having 4 directional movement

#

actually on pc its kinda neat that i can drag my mouse and hold it down to move and change direction

I’ve played too many mobile games where the dpad sucks and the joystick is great, so I defaulted to that

#

I should experiment with that though

#

Click/tap to move is another option

I tried and so far it seems promising! Keep up the good work. The joystick control was very good and felt very natural. The player is corresponding to the joystick very smoothly. I think that I will agree with Clem though that you could make the attacks automatic by just moving the player to a block that is already occupied by an enemy
