Sec I'm thinking up the proper algorithm for measuring decimals, as for Python, no it fulfills a specific purpose and I don't imagine that going away. We had C become the dominant style of programming, but it was too low level and OOP was becoming popular, so we got C++ and Java as a C-styled extension of this, but then we needed simpler, scripting languages too for simpler tasks. We had the scripting language perl, which I imagine is what made us aware of this need, so all we needed was a C-styled scripting language, giving us the very-vanilla Python
I see some people rave about it as a programming language for EVERYTHING, however, and those people are really just new to programming; python can be used for everything, but a scripting language is not best suited for large, scaled up software. That's where you'd go back to the .."medium level languages" like java and c++
Speaking of that, even the C++ and Java lineage of medium level C-styled languages have continued to evolve and be refined, resulting in languages like Kotlin
