To respond specifically to the idea of changing the role name to something less assuming, unfortunately all the names and profiles of the mods have been memorized, so the name of the role doesn’t matter. As much as we try to be in voice, the only way to do this is to rely on reports from users. Currently there are eight active voice channels, and it’s always like this. Mods will try to be in voice more often, but in the end we have to rely on reports from users.

I've fixed some bugs with @modern fiber:
- The translations are now properly spaced on mobile
- If a translation is not in the official SpanishDict dictionary (neodict) it will take the word from the other dictionaries (neoharrap) (I've only tested this with the word
liverpudlian, if any other errors occur, please let me know)

I meant; the bot recognizes some languages like French, Portuguese (?), Arabic. I feel like Turkish people are quite common here too. It's just a suggestion.
Anyway, I know a better solution which is putting a message like this with only 3 buttons in a closed channel. it can even be in #703075065016877066 (edit: hmm. It can't be if we assume one has to assign their language roles first)
It would solve all of these problems:
- Misspellings
- 3+ sentence essays
- Typing before reading
- Other language names you don't need to predict
- Other languages (e.g. that Macedonian a few days ago)
- Spam and advertising
- The need to lurk the channel by staff (so they can focus on something else)
And would allow to fix the roles with a few clicks.

I think it would be a fine idea, but there's not really a good way to moderate the creation of the channel unless all the females attach a "female" tag to themselves handed out by the moderators, but maybe the creation of the tag would do more harm than good because now every female has to put a permanent female tag on themselves. On the other hand, if you create private channel with the bot, you can either make it invite only, or make it public and kick/ban any guys who enter the channel when they enter

You can right click on users and click disconnect and they're kicked out
Also you can edit the permissions of the channel so you can set it to invite only, or keep it public and manually add any users who keep joining and set their permission to X for Connect

i think with the questions channels we should really make clear what language each one is for, people are confusing them more than ever now

well yeah people not reading the descriptions and things isn't gonna change easily, but the least that could be done is renaming the channels to show which language the questions are for
i dont see why the layout would have to change for that, i guess you'd just be repeating yourself, but it's worth it if people understand

I understand what you mean, but not everyone knows there are rules in the descriptions even if they do want to read. It's mentioned in #📜・rules, but even then, most people just scan through it or don't go there assuming there's going to be general things like "don't spam" an such. I'm not justifying this, that's just how I see it.
Also, what would that message be if not "spoon-feeding".

@feral peak Basically you are just reading a passage in the language you are more interested in learning (Spanish or English). So Im learning spanish, so ill read a spanish paragraph. Then a native corrects me on pronunciation, after I'm done reading. It helps you with confidence reading the language. Any questions more definitely feel free to message me . Its nice because its so supportive/friendly.

@bold bay Hemos estado discutiendo y por ahora, hemos decidido en cambiar el nombre de las categorías. Pasan a ser SPANISH LEARNING CHANNELS y ENGLISH LEARNING CHANNELS. Incluimos la parte de LEARNING. A partir de ahora hasta dentro de 7 días estaremos más atentos a esos dos canales y ver realmente si la cosa mejora o empeora.
Si nada mejora, volveremos a optar por otro cambio.

pero la gente de #📘・questions-lounge mayormente suele preguntar cosas relacionadas con el español en ese canal
Entonces, sugirieron que pusiéramos un nombre a los canales de preguntas que fuera más descriptivo, pero primero antes de eso, hemos optado por renombrar la categoría
Le hemos añadido "learning". Quizás así la gente se da cuenta de que ese canal es para preguntar cosas sobre el inglés
