Its tricky because if you restrict it to learners, it becomes an echo chamber of non-native Spanish. I realize you meant that some natives would be in there too, I only warn that this could backfire and it could end up being predominantly non natives producing and reinforcing non native Spanish with each other. There is also another problem: the more simply you speak, the more people can understand but the less you can say, and the less you can actually talk about (leading back to our original problem; not enough non natives speaking). How do we balance this line? Also, if its too hard people may not learn, but if its too easy they also won't learn. So how simple would we want to be so that its just above everyone's level?

I'm going to think about all of this too, as I'd like to get more learners in a Spanish room too. #teamSpanish2

The purpose of #🐟・ᴇɴ∕beginner is to provide a place for easy English conversation should a) a Spanish native ever desire that and b) #☕・general is too fast at that time for that learner. Obviously these two conditions are not filled often enough to have #🐟・ᴇɴ∕beginner see much activity

Talk about learning Spanish, talk about learning English, talk about aliens invading earth, whatever, and you can do it in English or Spanish. #🐟・ᴇɴ∕beginner exists because it's a good idea to exist, even if it doesn't see much activity.

We're in the pleasant position to announce that New Game! is the very first server (afawk) with voice channel XP- VC XP are finally here!

It took a while mainly because we were doing other things but we made it!
Quick rundown on how it works;

• You get 5-15 VC XP once per minute.
• In order to get XP you need to talk at least once in that minute.
• You get the same NGC rewards as the ones you get on text XP with the exception of level 3.
• People that sit on their own in a vc, talking to themselves pretty much, to farm XP, will not be gaining any.
• If you're muted or defeaned while in a vc you gain no XP at all.

The commands to check your VC rank and levels will be .rank, which will be shown alongside your text XP, and .vclevels respectively.

Each group has a event planner, maybe tortilla, serene..., and whoever native wants to join so they can have more trustful corrections and advice. Just an opinion though.

Suggestion: can we have a channel for animals. I keep wanting to link a lot of things to do with animal videos/pictures/etc but I feel like it goes in so many different channels and I don't want to feel like I'm spamming or posting in the wrong place blobsad and we could also make use of the cats/dogs tag. People can also post pictures of their pets. A lot of other discords I'm in have a channel like this and it is the best thing since sliced bread.

I was one of the people who had suggested it before. The response I was given is the same one you're being given now. I ended up joining a server for the specific language I wanted to talk in and it turned out really, really well for me. So I'm not sure if there's a true need for the channel when the solution is very easy.

The reason the mods are trying to get at is that it would mever be used, people come here to learn Spanish and English so all they expect and want to learn is Spanish and/or English, once in awhile we'll have someone who speaks another language which is all fine and dandy however once a server starts going off in too many directions it losses its main focus.

this is a really not necessary addition, however it could be useful in some situations for corrections. Having self-assigned tags for what dialect of Spanish you are learning, for example, if you are learning Latin American Spanish, a native knows to correct you to ustedes and if you are learning Spain Spanish they know to correct you to Vosotros.

Or you can say, "What? I do what?" That's is more informal and used in speech/talking and less in written conversations. That implies you're still doing something and someone is talking about it. The first part "What?" is like getting someone's attention. Then asking what you do that they are talking about: "I do what?"
