blender is a pretty good program and the advantage of it is that it's free

but almost all the 3d programs are the same, if you learn to use one you will pretty much manage yourself with others

It depends, at the beginning it's pretty hard because you need to learn to brand yourself and how to effectively sell your idea to your clients, I think i'm still a beginer I mean I earn enough to live on a thirdworld country lol, but for someone like you I suggest have a work on the side

but if you put enough effort on it, you could live from it, but like I said it required skills
