And there's a setting in the config to allow invalid player names (Is called something like "allow-illegal-usernames")

That will link all your servers up via Database
Your servers will then read from the database and look for any permission changes set there, if their stored perms don't match, then they will update 🙂

Just use the files and in-game commands. Don't worry about self hosting or the editor.
The yaml files are automatic as well, if you have the config option watch-files enabled all changes you make in the user/group files it will take effect once you save the file.
