I mean when I was making my Discord bot and got to the point that I needed to store stuff, I tried fighting with yaml for like half an hour, gave up, threw GSON at it, and it just worked

GSON = Google's Java Json library. https://github.com/google/gson

so if it doesn't need to be user-editable, that's likely an easier course of action

Dedicated Spigot: Pebblehost or Meloncube
VPS for GTA, MC and anything else: OVH

Fluctis is also ok

But what you gotta know is the cheapest plans have the worst CPUs

So if you’re running a lot of Redstone or an ass load of plugins that are very heavy

You’re gonna need the premium servers over the budget servers

Which are still $2 per gig

Also the staff I’ve heard aren’t the friendliest, but hey; they get paid like nothing because of the cheap-ness of the whole business

Honestly I’d try to find a very small OVH plan

They’re dirt cheap at like $1.2 per gig and if you get the 128 GB you’re actually paying $0.8 per gig even though it’s a lot

@pliant tartan every server has different plugins and a different plan, it's best to go one plugin at a time, learn them, and check their docs for what each node will allow a player to do. It's entirely up to you, and will be a bit of work but that's how it has to be done

hmm getting sidetracked, another clippy idea: if someone sends a bytebin url, clippy could get the contents & send it to the channel if it's under a reasonable size limit i.e. 2000 chars.

Hey there, a quick question. I am currently running a BungeeCord Network, and using LuckPerms for permissions. I connected all LP instances to a MySQL database running on the same Server PC. To relieve some workload from the server PC, I was planning on moving the MySQL server to a Raspberry Pi 3 B that I have laying around. If it's somewhere the 'hackers' can access, like a database, (and lots of hackers seem to be accessing databases) and it's not encrypted, there's not much extra security just a bit more delay to find the password- regardless yeah it's a good idea for the few that want to protect LP commands, however the users are only giving themselves all perms through LP in order to be able to do things in-game... They'll still be able to run any other plugin or mod command through console, as long as it doesn't have to be run by a player (which many don't)
