On Bukkit, I used WG as a back-end and just wrote a plugin that determined the rules for how players were allowed to interact with WG regions. No idea what I'll do on Sponge yet.
That one is closed source because it contains some source code that was released to me under NDA. That said, when I write my own version, I'll most likely model it after LP where you have a common library which does all of the heavy lifting and then a project targeting each platform that just interfaces with the back-end.

Alright @ornate heron. Just a few minor things, but worth noting nonetheless:
- Not sure if you know but EventHandlers are typically not in the main class. For such a small plugin it is ok not to split them, but if it starts getting bigger, move the event (and command stuff) to separate classes
- Use a consistent
ifstyle. Either a blank line after/before it or not. But be consitent. - No need for the
returninside theif, if the it's followed right by anotherreturn(lines 44 and 46 for example. The one on line 46 is enough) - Store things you checked in
booleanvariables. You checkedc.getOwnerName().equals(name)twice. Not a huge deal here but it's good practice to save these kinds of checks in a variable if they're used again. You never know how expensive such a comparison is. - That's a personal thing but I'd recommend you to wrap direct comparisons (like
c == null) that are used in conjuction with&&or||in parentheses - Don't put new lines before a brace
- Chances are you can get the owner of a claim as an
UUID. Don't compare player names. Compare playerUUIDs. They stay the same even if the player changes the name (and the server is not in offline mode/cracked. But even thereUUIDworks)
