It seems the plugin has been updated on spigot, I would suggest that you try and upgrade the plugin to see if it fixes the issue. You might have to regenerate your config files

so, don't get me wrong @coral lantern, but yes, I can have a bungee plugin send to specific servers. I cannot do what I want with Bungee's built-in cmd as it's quite "dumb" and does all-or-not. I do not want to continue to, use the backend plugin for alerts as I want a) to de-duplicate plugins, b) send alerts to a specific server (as opposed to all), and c) want to be able to do so from what ever server I'm on.
an announcer plugin would workm but Id prefer it to handle /alert command.

WHen I first installed a gameserver panel I used Bright Game Panel, but it has a ton of bugs, is exploitable everywhere, does not work with anything over or under php 7.0 ( I have no idea how they managed to do that ) and of course, the developers stopped and are not working on it anymore

- Just insecure if you dont the hell know what you are doing or choose a so bad webpanel that you should punch yourself for selecting it
- Works on literally all devices
- Most have a web file browser and editor
Now when you use the "manual" method:
You need a ssh software and a ftp or sftp software
You need to log into your server, which is most likely (if you know how to secure linux) not the root user
Now you need to change to the root user and then to the target user the servers runs under because you can't access the servers screen session ( supposing you use that ) from another user
Now you can finally type in: "ban user because hes shit"
you want to change a file or want to upload something?
Use nano for text file editing, or vim or whatever
Use filezilla to login to your ftp and upload the file into a god dam addon folder
Webpanel method:
Login -> 2fa
Select the server from a list
open the console and type "ban user because whatever"
Edit a file? select it in the ftp viewer.

When you run a small server which you know you do not have to access a lot, I agree the console is sufficent, but if you know you work on it a lot or want to provide access to others ( maybe limit it ) use a webpanel. Yep, that's the nickname-prefix setting: '~'. Just delete the ~ and you're good!

Is there something that has to be enabled in spigot.yml or bukkit.yml that I might be missing?

Hopefully someone here can help me, I'm trying to setup ipwhitelist for my servers, I add the proxy ip to the config but when I connect (through the proxy) I still get kicked from the server.
I have ipforwarding enabled on my proxy server and bungee is set to true in my spigot.yml

Best option is really to use paper and BungeeGuard
It's much easier and much more robust, many of those protect plugins don't really look secure in terms of what they're actually checking, and bungeeguard basically means that even if people manage to get onto the same box as your proxy, they couldn't connect

Just installed bungeeguard, added the token to each of my servers and decided to test it, I set one of my server's "byngeecord" setting in spigot.yml to false (for testing purposes) and I was able to login without a problem/kick message. Am I doing something wrong?
or does the plugin only work if you have "bungeecord" set to true in spigot.yml

you need ip forwarding configured properly, otherwise you'll run into issues e.g. players ip addresses being incorrect

As far is I know ip forwarding only consists of two settings, the actual ip-forward setting in the bungeecord config and the bungeecord setting in the spigot.yml

There isn't one, that's the problem. If I have my ip-forwarding enabled then I get kicked with the default ipforward message that spigot provides when I try to directly connect to one of my backend servers. So I then disabled the "bungeecord" setting in spigot.yml to try and see if bungeeguard will kick me, but I join without any error/kick message

i put bungeeguard-proxy on bungeecord plugin folder and and put bungeeguard-backend on plugin folder paper then copy token from bungeecord and paste it on paper server
