Nukkit is essentially the bukkit for bedrock version service (Pocket Edition, Windows 10 edition, xBox, etc.)
Bukkit is server software that allows to run plugins. You don't need anything on the client.
Spigot is an extension and optimization to Bukkit
That's why it's generally preferred
Sponge is essentially the same as Bukkit. But since Bukkit is ancient (existed before the release of Minecraft!), its API (what plugin authors use to do anything really) is also ancient and has a shitton of unnecessary backward compatibility stuff. The design is also severely outdated (it was ok, when it first started. But it never changed. That's why today it's outdated). So when Bukkit itself got shut down several years ago, people wanted to create a new better Bukkit, that would also support Forge. It has been growing ever since and is a pretty big community at this time. And the API is way better. (That's why I don't write Bukkit plugins anymore in the favor of Sponge plugins)
And now Forge. While the others are plugin systems for the server, Forge is for the server and the client. It is a mod loader. Which means you can add any number of Forge mods without having to worry about conflicts. Forge has become the defacto standard. So 99% of mods are made for Forge.

However, there are some 1.12.2 Servers where you can join with 1.13 too, but the world/server is still 1.12.2. They have the "Joining World" feature, but no ocean or dolphins for example. How is this possible?

They use plugins like ViaVersion or ProtocolSupport, which allows players to join a server, with a different version.
f.e. Players with 1.13 can join a 1.8.8 server, if it uses ViaVersion.
Downsides are, that depending on what version the server is running, that players can't use newer blocks from after this version.
In my above example could players only use blocks and items from 1.8.8 and older and any block added in 1.9 or newer won't work.

Hey everyone! Yesterday i opened my server and this happened. I was playing on my server and 2 from Spain and 1 from French joined my server. I have a buneecord server with Hub and a survival server. I was on survival with my friend, and then the 2 from Spain joined. They were talking Spain and we told to he that you need to speak Swedish or English. And the last one was hacking my server (From French). He get OP and Owner rank somehow. He griefed whole hub. And i need to ask if anyone knows a good anti-cheat that you cant be OP like that.
