i am making a github issue with this incident, for now i solved it by not setting that perm on one of my servers so on THAT server i have full access with OP

since all servers are connected with MySQL i can work from that server for now till it is fixed (i see it as a bug or oversight)

Hi, my permissions aren’t working and I’m not quite sure why, I set the permission Minecraft.Command.Gamemode for my admin group, I added someone to that group today and for some reason he still couldn’t use the /gamemode command, In the end I had to give them op for them to be able to use it, does anyone have any suggestions of why that might be?

Thanks for the command, turns out bukkit replaces the default Minecraft permission nodes with its own and the node was bukkit.command.gamemode instead of Minecraft.command.gamemode. 🙄

LuckPerms does not display things in chat!

LuckPerms is only able to send information to formatting plugins so that they display them properly. LuckPerms does not put the prefix in front of your name, you need a chat formatting plugin to do it, and you need Vault. Same goes for the tablist! If the information appears correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Greetings, I've asked the following question to the people of the M.O.S.S. Discord (EssentialsX) but they redirected me here.

I'm trying to give some of the players on my server access to the command block. In order to do that, I've given them op (op-permission-level set to 2 as I didn't want to give them access to /stop and other commands that might break the server -- I know that's broken in Spigot/Paper but I've fixed that using another plug-in so that's working fine!) and that works. However, now they also have access to a lot of Essentials commands that I don't want to give them access too as well: including some commands overriden by Essential (/ban, /pardon, /whitelist) but also some Essential-specific commands (e.g. /createjail, /tnt) I'm using the LuckPerms permission system, and also have Vault installed.

Is there any way how I can give some people op access, without giving them access to every Essentials command? I still want access to most commands myself, so outright disabling them server-wide (either via EssentialsX's configuration, or via commands.yml) is not an option and that would defeat the purpose of the permission system. I'm using Paper if that makes any difference.

Also, as far as I understood, Minecraft really expects a player to be some kind of level 2+ op to let command blocks work, so that's why I've given some people op access. I've googled a bit and found some outdated plug-ins that claim to fix this by using a permission, but none of them are working (as far as I could try) or went to a dead link. So that's why I'm trying this approach!

So i've been having this issue for while and i thought it was fixed, but my players keep gettign the wrong rank when they do the command /rankup
It's not giving them the A rank from the start when they do /rankup it's giving them the First A rank not the next ranks, Is there way to give them the A Rank upon joining the server for it to be fixed, /rankup works fine but they need to have the A rank and that's not working

Having permissions as an overview locally to quickly scan, edit and copy and paste using a normal editor is 100000000x faster than trying to figure out what is where in a database

@lapis ibex may help to explain my workflow, all my server plugin settings are duplicated locally, so I can have them all open in vscode, this means I can quickly edit, save, search, replace, and manipulate any JSON locally and just upload and job done, the editor requires an extra few steps of either opening Minecraft, waiting for that to load. Logging into your server, running a command, opening the web ui, making your changes and then pasting a command

If the web ui had a perminant link to each server that would make life much easier

@foggy quartz It's up to your chat/tab/scoreboard plugin to display them properly but they work with LP (for example for RGB prefixes, LuckPerms wont display them in user info but they'll work in chat if your chat plugin supports them)
