Question about this move away from using the default assignments thing -- I had used this in order to greylist my server, automatically putting people who join into a "guest" group. The problem is that if I convert/merge our existing guest group into the default group, I do not want any of the other groups to inherit the permissions -- is it sufficient to negate group.default in the other groups and use the default group as our new guest group?

Mercurialmusic, you can use the default group as guest group and have your regular groups just not inherit from the default group. That's what we do on our server.
If you need a common set of permissions for both guests and regulars, make a new group that both default and regular groups inherit from. That's also what we do.

all i can say is check you have installed the legacy api extension correctly and that you are using the same version of LP on all servers (if applicable)

@hollow vapor word of advice, give larger gaps, even gaps of 1000 between weights. this allows for easier expansion in the future should you want a new group to be between existing groups. then you dont have to renumber all groups to fit it in. Also, if using prefixes/suffixes, the best thing to do is have meta priority (weight) be the same as the group weight. so if owner is weight.10000, then the owner prefix would be prefix.10000.<ownerprefix>

The rank prefix does not appear in the tablist and the bungee console is spammed with errors :(( The error is from the tablist however this did not happen with PEX so i assume it is a problem with my luckperms config. Hello, I got a small issue were the prefix will work with some groups but others it wont? In fact this is why my standards for choosing server builders is just about as high as the standards for admins. I did set up the permissions to make sure it's as nearly as unrestricted as admin role, yet ensuring such restrictions still match the role.

Well, thing is I have my perms set up in such way with the emphasis of being able to complete their tasks rather than just filling up the seats.
Besides, I've been suggested that it's not even sustainable to recruit any staff member I can't fully trust at any level to begin with, including server builder, a non-moderating, non-managing role where admin claims and creative mode is a must
Also op override from LP does in fact even help protect the faithful admins and even myself from running say the wrong reloading command by careless mistake.

k.. i'm trying to get luckperms and the topography mod to work nicely together, i'm testing the skyfactory 4 modpack on a sponge server with luckperms, but when i use the topography command to create a new island i get "permission denied" but when i remove luckperms the command works, but i really need both on the server .. any ideas?

Wondering if someone can help me with this, I've got LuckPerms installed and using Nucleus for my essentials + chat formatting. I'm trying to set there to be a prefix shown in the chat for the respective groups of my LuckPerms (e.g. Owner, Admin, Mod, Default). However, I'm following the wiki link regarding chat formatting prefixes but whatever I do, it won't update the chat to the prefix of the group the user is in. It's just stuck on the green displayname.
